Caeli + Alex’s Outer Banks COVID Ceremony

Like so many, 2020 has made a crazy turn of things for people’s lives, Caeli and Alex sure experienced this with their Outer Banks COVID Ceremony. One week before the wedding, some of their family members caught Corona, so we had a very secluded, very distanced ceremony to celebrate these two. I imagine it was hard for them, but they took all the changes like champs. They knew what mattered to them and they wouldn’t let anything take away from it.

I love the way that they would randomly hug each other and would just love the people near them. There was so much love and support that filled this beautiful ceremony. Every single person attending were wearing masks and kept their distance. It was so crazy to see the way the world has turned around.

Even with all the COVID craziness, they still made time to decorate and create a beautiful space for Alex and Caeli’s special elopement. Bohemian-inspired decorations filled the Outer Banks park with elegance and beauty. Alex’s mom even made all the floral arrangements, so impressive right! Everything was absolutely stunning. I loved the bohemian arbor and all the perfect cacti sprinkled all around. The cute little DIY succulent flower crowns and hairpieces were one of my favorite details.

Their ceremony was so touching and beautiful. Within fifteen minutes, these two were married! They cut the cake and ran off into the night! Such a perfect little elopement.

The Beauty in a COVID Ceremony

I know planning a wedding can be so overwhelming during this time. Having a COVID ceremony may seem terrible, but I have been amazed at the simple beauty that has resulted from a shift of focus. I have loved to be a part of these elopements that are centered around the chance to promise their love, not on all the wedding fluff. Don’t get me wrong, I will be overjoyed to see everything go back to normal. I just am grateful that weddings can still happen and will still mean as much, if not more, to each bride and groom.
