We don’t want you to just download those images and leave them on your hard drive forever. We want you to have a physical reminder of your love all over the walls and on your coffee table. We want your friends to come over, and while you’re rummaging in the kitchen they’re turning each of the pages and seeing the raw emotion that went through that day. We want your children, having their first love in college to come home and hold that book and turn through the pages, and see the way you feel about each other and wonder if they have a love that strong. We want your images to have a life and a permanence, that’s why every single package includes a wedding album. Each of these albums will last for decades and are custom designed with you so that you put in every image that’s important to you.

So many of our couples are destination brides + grooms. They pick a place on the map and decide to make a trip that affects their life. Sometimes they bring their families and closest friends, and sometimes my team or I are signing the paper as a witness. Having captured countless weddings, we have a few ideas and tricks that make wedding planning so much easier. Trying to make a budget work? Want to know the best place to get flowers? The best places to stay? Where to get permits and how to create a timeline that leaves you with room to relax and ENJOY your wedding day? It makes me so happy when my team gets to help make your day as stress free as possible.

One of the hardest experiences I had with a wedding photographer was waiting for the sneak peeks. Only having cell-phone photos for a month and a half or a watermarked couple of screenshots to get me through was so hard.
That’s why we always give our clients 20 sneak peeks within 48 hours. We edit as quickly as we can and keep communicating with you after the wedding is over, so you know when those images are coming.

We know with the venue, the dress, and all the people celebrating you, it can seem like everything is important- but photography and videography is the ONLY thing you can take from that day. We have had countless couples tell me in tears that they went with a cheap friend/ photographer who lost the images or didn’t capture the moments that mattered. In fact, photography and videography is the only thing that increases in value as you pass those albums and images down to generations. Investing in this is the most important thing you can do for your day.

I've spent the past decade dedicating myself in both a college education for photography and videography, as well as additional courses to make sure I’m capturing your day in a beautiful way. I’ve invested thousands of dollars in equipment and education and experience, learning how to give my clients the most authentic storytelling possible. When you invest in capturing a legacy of memories that you can never get back, you get an experience and imagery like no other.

I learned a big lesson when I first started photographing weddings a few years ago- the more I knew the couple, their parents, and, family + their love story, the more emotional and powerful the storytelling became.
For me, staying updated and engaged in your life is one of the things I treasure. I want to build a relationship with you so that I can tell your story in the most authentic way. That means when you get on the phone with me, I’m going to be asking you about who you are, what’s important to you, and all about your fiance. These moments are so crucial in making a story real.
Images and ideas that come to mind during our talks will be all about you. At your wedding, I’ll be learning your grandparents’ names, getting pictures of them laughing together, or of your dad kissing your mom’s cheek. You bet I’ll be dancing around the room with your siblings, singing loudly while I capture the moment, because getting to know them means building a better relationship and a better story.

85% of the weddings my team and I decide to take on are ones with a little adventure in them. Sometimes, that means that you’re doing a backpacking trip to a glacier lake surrounded by mountains, or it means that you two are saying your vows in the backyard of your brand new house. Wait- how can those both be adventures?
Because we get to customize the story around YOU.
Whether that means we're coming in the night before for a cozy, in-home session of your last night before you get married, or doing a two-hour adventure session along the rolling hills of the Smokys, it’s all about customizing your experience.
If you check out the blog posts- you’ll see that each session is so much more unique. Whether it’s a proposal at a hot air balloon festival, jumping in your dress in the water after getting hitched, or a road trip to your wedding venue in another state, we're here for it.
In fact, it’s so important to us that each session is as unique to each couple as their love story, that we are always happy to brainstorm with you to figure out what story we should tell- backpacking and camping in a forest, an upscale formal session in a city, or a snuggled up in-home session- the options are as endless and personalized as you are. You get to control the way you tell the story you’ve dreamed of, and we get to cheer you on the entire way!

So many of my clients hop on the phone with me and my team and say “We are not photogenic AT ALL. We’re always so awkward in front of the camera and don’t know how to pose with each other!” Sound familiar?
Through our years of experience, we've discovered that the more we had our couples laughing, sharing, exploring and running around, the better images we got. We want you to FEEL closer to your fiance when you leave your time with a Look for the Light Photographer. It’s such an amazing feeling when we get an email from a bride saying “You captured the way we feel about each other. The way our relationship actually is!” It’s so important to us that we get comfortable with each other and make it about fun and adventure, so we can give you the shots where you look and feel your best!

To keep turnaround quick, and give all our clients an amazing experience, We limit the amount of sessions we do.
Because each of our sessions are so tailored, personalized and created for my couples, we limit the amount of weddings.
Between traveling across the country and editing thousands of images, We know what it’s like to be burned out, shooting endless weddings and not giving our clients the full experience they deserve. You deserve someone passionate, excited, and ready to serve you in every way that you can.
