Kayla and I were fast friends when she first reached out. We talked ALL about her and Blake’s wedding day. They plan to elope tucked back in the grandeur of The Great Smoky Mountains. Kayla’s reasoning for eloping in the Smokies is the absolute cutest… her family’s memories are packed with adventurous Gatlinburg trips. Kayla couldn’t imagine celebrating her biggest day anywhere else.
So to capture their genuine and joyous love before their December Smoky Mountain elopement, we set off for a weekend trip. Bright and early on Blake’s Birthday (sorry Blake!), we jumped in the car to head to the Smokies. I saw this big beautiful field surrounded by the green and majesty of Gatlinburg, as we were driving. The light was shining absolutely perfectly. We pulled over behind this random bank and started shooting. It was a joy being able to capture these two and the way that they feel about each other. Their chemistry was so natural and they were so sweet and cute together.
Then we headed up to the Foothills Parkway. The beautiful lookout points with views of the gorgeous Tennessee mountains made for good pit stops. We pulled over, played some music, and laughed while we took some bridal photos. It was such a dreamy and adventurous morning. After that, we found a serene creek to photograph at. The best part, these two got a little bit wet, so I could get the perfect playful shots of their genuine love.
The soft light and Gatlinburg surroundings made this shoot a dream. There’s so much beauty up here in the Smoky Mountains and the winding trails and rivers make it absolutely breathtaking. Snuggled back in the Gatlinburg hills and beauties is the perfect spot for engagement photos. Even better, if you’re looking to get married or elope in Gatlinburg (amazing choice) check out all my favorite wedding vendors in the area!
