I just got back from one of the most relaxing and creatively invigorating trips I’ve ever been on. I was blessed to be able to capture a beautiful elopement at Lost Dutchman – STUNNING. I love being able to find couples that love each other so much that they want to elope privately.
It was seriously so much fun capturing this Arizona elopement, and I can’t wait to tell you a little bit about these guys!
Eva and Logan met in high school and were high school sweethearts. They went all the way from Nebraska to Arizona to come live here. Then they got married, and started school in Phoenix. They live in the cutest little town home with the cutest little dog.
We first started out by exploring the Elvis Chapel. This chapel is right by the Superstition Mountains and is absolutely adorable. In fact if you open the doors you can see Elvis Presley standing at the polo outlet. His movies and other memorabilia are splashed all over the pews.
Apparently, according to one of the local tour guides, this is from one of the movies that he found. It was the only movie that he didn’t sing in.
Later we explored the background of Lost Dutchman State Park. The view was so breathtaking and the Red Rock and jumping cactus is a REAL vibe. The tour guide also mentioned a little bit about what jumping cactus is, and if you’re not from Arizona I thought this was a fun little tidbit. If the jumping cactus is so fragile that if you bump into it it’ll actually fall off. Luckily we didn’t bump into any, but there were a few close calls!
Then we wandered around Lost Dutchman for a bit and just got some shots and some of the fresh green grass. I love being able to see these to be all cuddly. They also were able to read their vows to each other, and they were so heartfelt and sentimental. I’ll be posting the video here as soon as it is finished being edited.
One thing that is so fun about about eloping in general is that it can be completely all about the two of you. You can buy some plane tickets, book a couple of nights in an airBnB, and make an adventure all your own.
One of my favorite details is the fact that I went to Trader Joes the night before and actually arranged this bouquet. I had a really good friend of mine teach me some floral basics. It was super fun being able to pick out some fun florals to make this desert elopement even more fun!
There are so many beautiful parks and national parks that are just so breathtakingly amazing, that can make your wedding day feel so special and worth celebrating all on it’s own. I’m so lucky I got to work with these guys, and capture such a gorgeous elopement.
