I love getting to travel for my couple’s weddings! Especially when they are as fun Dan and Kate. This couple had the most amazing Outer Banks destination wedding with fifty of their closest friends at a private beach house! I have never been to a wedding like this, and I have to say that I am obsessed! Everything about this wedding was breathtaking and inspiring, and I can’t wait to share the experience with you!
We drove out to the Outer Banks and arrived at this gorgeous luxury beach house in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Rather than spending their wedding budget on a venue, cocktail hour and all of the other wedding day necessities, Dan and Kate decided to rent this incredible beach house and invited their fifty closest friends to stay the week with them and celebrate their marriage. I have never had a bride and groom with this type of wedding, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING!
Dan and Kate are just the cutest couple out there! Kate is so kind and down to earth. We stayed with them for a few days in the beach house and she was constantly was checking in on us and making sure we were included as much as possible. Dan is absolutely the funniest person that I have ever met! I was laughing the entire weekend, even during the ceremony he managed to crack a few joke. And to top it all off, they have the sweetest little girl named Savannah. They are such awesome parents to her. I seriously love this couple!
Kate created so many special moments for her Outer Banks destination wedding. I always say that if you want to have those meaningful moments on your wedding day, then you have to make them happen! She had some really touching moments with both her mom and dad. She did a first look with her dad and it was just the sweetest thing! I adore daddy-daughter first looks. It is just so tender to really get a glimpse of the relationship and love that is there.
She was sure to have meaningful one on one time with both her mom and new mother-in-law. She gave them each a special necklace, and talked for a bit. All of the women there were so close and had such a beautiful connection. All of Kate’s bridesmaids were either cousins or sisters, which I thought was really cool!
The ceremony was on Sunday and was absolutely breathtaking. Dan and Kate were married right on the beach surrounded by their friends and family. There were so many emotional moments through to the week, but the ceremony definitely tops them all! The preacher who officiated their marriage was so kind hearted and genuine, I just couldn’t get enough of what he had to say about marriage and family. During the ceremony Savannah, their daughter, was playing in the sand and just having a blast!
After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the beach house for the reception. It was a beautiful and simple. Dan and Kate slow danced in front of their family and friends as the waves were crashing in the distance. Then everyone had dinner and just hung out for the rest of the night.
This Outer Banks destination wedding was by far one of my favorite weddings! From the luxury beach house, to the emphasis on friends and family. It all was so simple and focused on what is really important. I can’t wait for you to plan out the perfect destination wedding for you! Reach out and let’s chat about what special moments you want captured!
