The Amalfi Coast is on the southern side of Italy, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Gulf of Salerno. And the views of the bright blue water, lush mountains, and bright Italian architecture are simply to die for! When Maria and Thomas had to reschedule their dream destination wedding in Italy because of travel restrictions, we were all devastated. However, they made the most of their wedding day with an Amalfi Coast-themed wedding that brought elegant and classic Italy to Utah Valley!

Amalfi Coast-Themed Wedding Venue in Utah

I was beyond excited to get to travel internationally for Maria and Thomas’ wedding in Italy! But even when their wedding was moved back to the states, I knew that it would have a flare of Italy. Maria comes from an Italian family that holds close to their roots. So finding a venue that reflected the Amalfi Coast style was so important to Maria.

Maria and Thomas found the perfect spot for their wedding in Utah’s backyard! The space for the ceremony was bright and green, just like southern Italy. The lush landscaping gave an intimate and romantic vibe, that was perfect for their Amalfi Coast Themed wedding. Not to mention the pergola that was decorated simply with greenery and wood natural rentals!

Temple Wedding

Maria and Thomas were married in a sacred temple that holds great meaning and tradition in both their faith and families. We were able to get lots of wedding photos outside of the temple as they came onto the temple grounds from being married for time and eternity. And let me tell you, these grounds were incredible!

Not only was the temple glorious and bright, but the gardens were absolutely perfect for their Amalfi Coast themed wedding! The gardens were so abundant, filled with full bushes and the most beautiful florals. I know that having her dream wedding in Italy wasn’t possible, so I took every chance I got to create images that brought a southern Italian feel to their gallery.

Italian Cookie Tradition

One of my favorite things about the wedding reception was that their grandmothers had made cookies. And when I say they made cookies, I mean they made hundreds cookies! Maria’s family comes from Italy and they clingy closely to their Italian traditions. Making tons of cookies is an Italian wedding tradition that they chose to include in their wedding reception.

They did also have a traditional wedding cake that actually came from a grocery store! Before the wedding they picked up this cake and had a relative dress it up right before they cut into it. It was so pretty with clippings of their wedding florals and some simple piping. Honestly, your would never guess that it wasn’t from a high end bakery, making it the perfect inspo for a DIY wedding cake!

Ceremony & Reception

Maria and Thomas’ wedding ceremony was everything you’d expect from an Amalfi Coast Themed wedding! It was whimsical, elegant and a total dream. It was so beautiful to be able to capture their love for one another, as all of their closest friends and family gathered around them. And on top of that, the weather was amazing! Making this wedding day absolutely perfect.

The reception was just as perfect, and a lot of the credit deserves to go to the DJ. He was definitely my favorite DJ that I have ever worked with. He not only provided great music, but also had it rain confetti which gave me a really cool moment to capture.

At the end of the night when Maria and Thomas ran through the sparklers I felt so fulfilled. Although we were no longer able to travel to Italy, this Amalfi Coast themed wedding was a dream come true!
