I have been photographing engagements for as long as I can remember! Engagement sessions have so many perks. We get to know each other before your wedding day, you get a fun and adventurous date with your lover and to top it all off, your love story is showcased in timeless photos! The perfect engagement session has everything to do with you and your love. But, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve to help and enhance the moment!

Location

The great thing about engagement sessions is that you can do it anywhere and at anytime! Don’t overthink your session, the simpler the better. After all, my goal is for this to be a fun and relaxing date for you. You deserve a break from all the wedding planning and to just be in love, and I will worry about capturing every tender moment!

The amount and variety of engagement session locations can be overwhelming. But, no worries! I got you girl! I have absolutely loved getting to know Sacramento and the surrounding area and have so many awesome locations to choose from. Whether you are wanting an urban city scape or the calmness of the orchards, I’ve got you covered!

You are my top priority! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible while in front of the camera. A huge part of that comes from getting to know each other and forming a relationship. That’s why I love having engagement sessions with my brides. We get to know each other on a more personal level, and then when I show up to your wedding it is like seeing an old friend!

Be Fearless!

I want to authentically tell your story! You deserve engagement photos that showcase the tenderness,  joy, and the beauty of the life you’re celebrating! Be fearless and adventurous during your engagement session. Don’t hold back anything! Laugh too loud, kiss too long and just embrace the moment you get to be together!

Trust me, when you forget about the camera and everyone else you will get the best engagement photos! It is so easy to get caught up in ourselves and everyone else. Forget it all and just focus on each other, because when you do you will have the freedom to be yourself during your engagement session.

Outfit Inspo

Ultimately, I want you to feel comfortable and yourself in whatever you wear for your engagement session. But, I do have a few tips for outfits that will really make you the focus of the session. First thing is to rock some natural tones! These natural tones will make your engagement photos timeless and will look great weather they are over your parents mantle or in your office space.

I will always, ALWAYS recommend a flowy dress! They are way too fun and bring a beautiful motion into your engagement session! You can dress it up with heels, or get really down to earth and go barefoot. Either way, you will get all the romance with a flowy dress!

What To bring

For the most part, just bring yourself! But, there are a few things that I recommend to bring to your engagement session to make the experience, and the end result, just a little bit better.

Music

Let’s dance the day away! Music is the best way to loosen up and feel comfortable in front of the camera. I typically bring music to every engagement session, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!

Essentials Kit

Bring a small bag of essentials for reapplying makeup, a small snack, some gum and any other small items you may need. If you are having an adventure engagement session with me then this essential kit may be a bit more of a priority!

Clothing

Bring a change of outfits to get some variety in your engagement session! I recommend keeping it it between two and four outfits, that can include adding sweaters or just changing tops. You may have to change behind a bush, but it is totally worth it!
