Guest Comfort For Your Tennessee Summer Wedding

Your guests are there to celebrate you and your love, but to keep the party going throughout the hot summer weather you will want to provide some comforts. Having options for your guests to to stay cool during your Tennessee summer wedding will ensure for an enjoyable wedding day for everyone. Let’s dive into the must-haves to keep your guests going when the summer heat keeps on coming!

Hydration Station

One of the most important things to have for your guest for your Tennessee summer wedding is a variety of options to stay hydrated. You do not want anyone passing out or getting heatstroke! Having a number of ways to stay hydrated can lead to an amazing wedding experience for guests, as well as adding personal touches to add to the decor! You can get creative and do a DIY, or your catering vendor could have an option for your wedding day. Below are some ideas I have loved at some crazy fun summer weddings I’ve shot!

• Chilled water bottles for guests as they sit down for the outside ceremony
• Have multiple drink stations set up around the venue
• Frozen drinks for cocktail hour
• Large ice containers/ icebox
• Watermelon/ fruit sticks
• Popsicles with the initials of the couple on the sticks

 

Here Comes The Sun

The sun will be out and beating down on your wedding day so let’s make sure to have sunscreen for you and those loved ones! You can even decorate the bottles with photos of you and your sweetheart. Canopies are a great way to provide shade from the sun, so go ahead and scatter them all over the venue. Creating artificial shade to keep everyone cool during cocktail hour will make the day much more enjoyable. Lastly, I highly recommend having hand fans surround your space, either in cute little baskets or displayed beautifully on a table. Hand fans can be decorated in many different ways. One idea is to have your program printed on the fan itself instead of paper programs! This way guests can walk around and continue the Tennessee summer wedding experience and stay cool.

Bugs

Once you get a hold of the Tennessee heat, your next step is to take care of the bug situation! There are many ways to keep the pesky bugs away from your guests on your summer wedding day. Providing bugs spray for all your guests is a wonderful way to keep bugs away. You can have them in cute little baskets around the venue or have one designated bug spray area. You can also place lovely little citronella candles around and on guests’ tables to keep their food and drinks safe. Lastly, you can incorporate bug repelling flowers into your decor or bouquets. A few of florals that can help are lavender, marigolds, citronella grass, catnip, rosemary, and the allium flower.

There are so many fun alternatives to a traditional guest book. I have seen many different ideas that are personalized to my couples through the hundreds of weddings I have captured.
